The Project Management Institute – New Jersey Chapter (PMINJ) on February 21, 2003, recognized and celebrated the 2022 Project Manager of the Year and the Honorable Mention Project Manager of the Year. The virtual event was attended by more than 200 people with a very enthusiastic audience supporting the project management recipients

Mr. Manish Malevar, is a Director at BNY Mellon (Pershing), within the Project Management Office. Manish was awarded the “2022 Project Management of the Year” award for his leadership in establishing firm wide benchmarks for governance, program planning and management. Manish led his team throughout the adoption of agile, and his team at BNY Mellon (Pershing) was the first to successfully migrate to the Agile model, bringing higher efficiencies and greater client satisfaction. Manish provided a though provoking and practical presentation on “Delivering Exceptional Client Experience”.

Mr. Thomas D. Schnipp, a project manager practitioner was awarded the “2022 Honorable Mention Project Management of the Year” for developing and delivering a project management curriculum for the County College of Morris, Center for Workforce Development. The aim of the program is to advance participant knowledge in the project management field and enhance career opportunities. Tom adapted his teaching methods through Covid-19, which affected his classroom teaching style, and developed innovated ways to provide his expertise to his students. Thomas’s presentation was on “Serving the Community and Profession”. Key lessons learned from Thomas’s presentation were on

  • Leadership, communication and relationship building
  • Navigating the impact of COVID
  • Networking and the importance of professional networking, including a focus on the Project Management Institute.

PMINJ is honored and proud to have Manish Malevar and Thomas D. Schnipp, as two exemplary project managers, within the New Jersey project management community. Two beautiful plaques were presented to Manish and Thomas by the PMINJ-Director of Project Awards, Louis A. Vazquez, PMP.

A book drawing, title “CyberSecurity for Business” was won by Anu Khandelwal for attending the event.
