PMINJ Project Manager of the Year Award (PMOY)

Purpose

The PMINJ Project Manager of the Year (PMOY) Award recognizes and honors a PMINJ Chapter Project Manager for their accomplishments and skills in the execution of a project or in the advancement of the project management profession.

Timeline

The deadline to submit on-line nominations is 31 July 2023. The PMOY award will be presented at the PMINJ Monthly Program in November. If selected, the PMOY winner may be asked to present at the PMINJ monthly program.PMINJ believes Project Managers bring “true” value and positive change to an organization.

Eligibility

  • Nominee must be a member of the PMINJ Chapter in good standing
  • A nominee may be submitted for the following:some text
    • a successful project lead by the project manager and completed in the previous year, or
    • an outstanding achievement in the field of project management completed in the previous year
  • Nominee shall be willing to provide detailed information concerning the project or the outstanding achievement
  • Nominee shall ensure there are no restrictions on the use of submitted information and permission has been obtained for the use of any copyrighted materials
  • Nominee can be any PMINJ member except a PMINJ Executive Board member.
  • Self-Nominating is permitted.

Selection Process

  • The Nominator will complete the online Nomination Form
  • The PMINJ Director-Project Awards or designee will contact the nominator to confirm receipt and eligibility of the nomination package.
  • The final evaluation process will consist of telephone interviews of the top 3 nominees by a panel of PMINJ Board members.
  • The Director will notify the PMOY winner at the conclusion of the evaluation process.
  • The nominations, evaluation process and scores are proprietary to PMINJ and will not be disclosed to nominators or nominees.
  • If none of the nominees reflect the level of achievement expected, PMINJ reserves the right not to present an award.

Award

  • One PMOY award will be presented at the PMINJ November Monthly meeting.
  • The PMINJ Newsletter shall feature the winning PMOY. Press releases shall be made to external media for the presentation of the award. The recipient may also coordinate additional publicity with PMINJ in coordination with the presentation event.
  • A $500 contribution will be made by PMINJ to the winner’s selected United States charity.

Schedule

  • 31 Jul – Deadline for Nomination Application online
  • 31 Aug - PMOY Winner will be notified
  • If requested to present at the November Monthly meeting:some text
    • 01 Oct - Winner will provide a short video ( 30 to 60 seconds) to publicize the event
    • 15 Oct - Winner will deliver PowerPoint presentation in 16:9 format
    • Second Tuesday of Nov - Presentation Dry Run
    • Third Tuesday of Nov - Presentation by the POY winner at the PMINJ Monthly Meeting
